Krasnodar, September 11 – Yug Times. Most of this autumn’s premieres of the leading Kuban theatres will be pierced with Cossack flavour.
At the press conference dedicated to the beginning of the new theatre and concert season hosted by the regional Ministry of Culture on August 29, the directors of the main theatres and concert halls announced their new performances, most of which would be focused on the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Krasnodar region.
In her opening speech, Minister of Culture Viktoria Lapina invited all residents and visitors of the Kuban region to the festivitiy dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the region and the 225th anniversary of the colonization of the area by the Black Sea Cossacks, to be held in Basket Hall on September 16. The list of performers includes Oleg Gazmanov, Turetsky’s Choir and sought-after Kuban groups.
The State Academic Kuban Cossack Choir will reportedly open its 206th season with concerts to be held in the Concert Hall at 5, Krasnaya Street on October 7, 8 and 9. Then the choir will take part in a series of national and international festivals, forums and cultural events accompanying political summits. The touring program of the Kuban Cossack Choir includes Russian regions, Belarus and Serbia. Ponomarenko Philharmonic Society will open the new season on October 3 and 4 with gala concerts of its own groups., and on October 18 the artists will perform in the Kremlin Palace with a concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Krasnodar region.
