The Krasnodar region is highly interested in allocation of knowledge-intensive and hi-tech productions from Germany.
Our today’s interviewee is Rashid Kudaev, Head of Investment Policy Office of the regional Department for Investment and Development of Small and Midsize Businesses.
“The Krasnodar region has been cooperating with Germany since the early 1990s. In 2016, the bilateral goods turnover equaled to USD 181.1 million, of which USD 8.1 million were export transactions and USD 173 million - imports. This year the proportions will remain practically the same.
“At the same time, it is worth noting that because of the sanctions, the trade turnover has drastically fallen - say, in 2012 it was USD 342.9 million, nearly twice as big as now.
“Notwithstanding certain geopolitical pressure, the years 2016 and 2017 were rich in meetings with our potential investors. Delegations from different countries visited Kuban, but it was the German business mission that was the most numerous and representative.
“Bearing in mind the ruble-to-euro exchange rate, the present-day economic situation makes the Krasnodar region an attractive destination for the German business circles. Launch of domestic manufacture projects will let German companies reduce costs and conquer new markets for their goods.
